Day 10: What questions did you ask?

I'm stubborn.  I don't like to ask questions.  Even if I have zero clue what's going on, I will pretend like I have it together and know exactly what to do.  So it doesn't come naturally to me to ask questions to get information.
I had to quickly get over that this summer when working camp when I learned two things: 1.) Kids love to ask questions. 2.) Kids won't open up unless YOU ask questions first.
To be intentional with kids, I had to learn to ask questions like "So what was your favorite track time?" which led to questions like "How does that relate to God?"  which ultimately (and hopefully led to) "So are  you a Christian?"
I learned through that experience with kids how I should be with everyone.  To be intention with someone, whether kid, adult, or senior adult, you've got to ask questions.  One of CentriKid's principle's is that ministry happens best through the context of relationships.  Relationships are built by getting to know someone.  You get to know someone by asking questions about them and actually caring about them.  I am so thankful that God showed me that through camp this summer.
Thus, a question that I have asked most this semester is, "Do you want to go to Cups?"  That question has led to some pretty amazing conversations with people about where they are in life.
So ask questions and deepen your relationships with people.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, she said yes to informal.
