Our last four weeks of camp were spent in Middletown, Maryland. This place was basically in the middle of nowhere. Our camp was beautiful with tons of woods..quite unlike the other campuses we were on.
While camp is the best time of my life, it wasn't exactly the most chill. So on the weekends, the staff would basically crash. Well, one weekend, we decided to split the guys and the girls up. The girls took off to the mall and went out to eat. Well the guys...we decided to do the manliest thing thinkable: go hiking the Appalachian Trail.
Now I'm not exactly an outdoor-type guy, so I wasn't exactly looking forward to this. However, this hike turned out to be one of the highlights of my year.
For the first time in forever, I was about to completely clear my mind of all things school, camp, and life, and just enjoy being where I was that moment. I underestimated how amazing it was being surrounded by godly brothers and just being in the middle of God's creation with no phone, no responsibilities, and no time schedule. Not to mention, I had some pretty legit conversation with Daniel Teague about school, God, and relationships.
